BEDC Investigates Electric Shock Incident in Ado-Ekiti

BEDC Electricity Plc has initiated an investigation into an electrical incident involving Mr. Akinyemi Bamidele, a technical linesman, who suffered burns after receiving an electric shock while performing maintenance on the 11kV Basiri Feeder.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday in the Ado-Poly Satellite Campus area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Following the incident, Mr.

Bamidele was promptly taken to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) for medical treatment. According to Mrs.

Evelyn Gbiwen, the Head of Branding and Corporate Communications at BEDC, he is currently in stable condition and responding well to care. The company is committed to the safety and wellbeing of its employees and is providing necessary support to Mr.

Bamidele during his recovery. The ongoing investigation aims to clarify the circumstances of the incident, and appropriate measures will be implemented based on its findings.
