IKEDC Technician Survives Electric Shock in Lagos

On Thursday, a technician with Ikeja Electric Plc, identified as working on a power pole near Gbagada Bus Stop in Lagos State, survived an electric shock. The incident caused panic among local residents and commuters as the technician became trapped on an elevated ladder.

Footage shared online depicted two IKEDC field workers attempting to rescue their colleague, who appeared unconscious but was seen moving his arms during the rescue efforts. An eyewitness confirmed that the technician survived the initial shock and urged onlookers to remain calm.

Ikeja Electric Plc later confirmed that the technician was receiving medical attention at a hospital. Kingsley Okotie, the Head of Corporate Communications for the company, stated that the technician is recuperating and emphasized that necessary safety protocols are being implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
