Benjamin Hundeyin Removed as Nigeria Police Force PRO

Benjamin Hundeyin has been removed from his position as the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, with Anthony Okon Placid appointed as his successor. This change was confirmed by sources at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, although the police authorities have yet to make an official announcement.

Hundeyin previously served as the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command before taking on the national role in September 2025. The restructuring includes the creation of a new department, with Chief Superintendent Ali Giwa appointed to head the newly established unit.

In a related statement, Hundeyin declared that the new Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, will not be subject to emotional blackmail and emphasized that the IGP will act professionally, ensuring that no officer is above the law and that anyone found wanting will be dealt with accordingly.
