Benjamin Hundeyin Removed as Nigeria Police Force PRO

On March 5, 2026, Benjamin Hundeyin was removed from his role as the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force. This decision was made by the newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, who took office following the inauguration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Hundeyin had served in this position for six months, having been appointed by former Inspector General Kayode Egbetokun. The reasons for Hundeyin's removal were not disclosed at the time of the report.

It is noted that such changes in leadership are common when a new Inspector General assumes command. Hundeyin's background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lagos State University and a Master's degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.

He has also received training in civil-military coordination and participated in United Nations and African Union missions in Darfur in 2020.
