Benue Abolishes Customised Education Materials, Compulsory Lessons, Graduation Ceremonies

Benue state government has decided to abolish the use of customised education materials, compulsory lessons, and graduation ceremonies at the kindergarten and nursery levels in both public and private schools. The new policy, titled "New Education Policy Benue," was announced in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Knowledge Management, Mrs.

Helen Nambativ Zeramo. The implementation of this policy will begin in the first term of the academic year.

The decision was made following a meeting with school proprietors, PTA members, and other education stakeholders on August 26, 2025. This move aims to streamline the education system and ensure a more uniform approach to early childhood education in the state.
