Benue Assembly Elects New Speaker As Dajo Resigns From Office

The Benue State House Assembly elected Hon. Alfred Emberga as the new Speaker after Rt.

Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh resigned from office on August 24.

The motion to elect Hon. Emberga was moved by Hon.

Douglas Akya and seconded by Abu Umoru. The Deputy Speaker, Mrs.

Lami Danladi Ogenyi, presided over the plenary session where the vote took place. Hon.

Emberga accepted his new role and paid tribute to former Speaker Dajoh, pledging to work collaboratively with all members. Rt.

Hon. Dajoh announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the Clerk of the House, citing the best interest of the state as his reason.
