Benue Assembly Extends Ex-Speaker Dajoh's Suspension by Six Months Over Alleged Misconduct

The Benue State House of Assembly has extended the suspension of former Speaker Hyacinth Dajoh for six months following a motion titled "Motion to Review Suspension of Hyacinth Dajoh." The motion was moved during a plenary session by Terna Shimawua of the APC, accusing Dajoh of showing no remorse for his initial suspension in August. The Assembly aims to maintain discipline and protect its integrity.

The extension of the suspension took effect on November 25, with a condition for Dajoh to submit a written apology showing genuine remorse before resuming legislative duties. Speaker Alfr Emberga emphasized that the Assembly will not tolerate actions capable of undermining its stability.
