Kuraun Demands APC to Declare Him Winner or Rerun Primary

Dr. Jeffrei Kuraun, a gubernatorial aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, has demanded that the party either declare him the winner of the recent primary election or conduct a new primary.

Kuraun rejected the outcome of the primary held last week, which declared Governor Hyacinth Alia the winner with 367,786 votes. He alleged that the electoral process lacked credibility, transparency, and fairness, claiming it failed to represent the genuine wishes of APC members across the 276 council wards in the state.

Kuraun stated that he complied fully with APC guidelines by submitting a comprehensive list of agents for the election, but reported that election materials failed to reach designated wards on time, leading to irregularities. He expressed frustration over the inability to file a formal complaint with the APC's appeal committee, which he claimed became unreachable.

Kuraun has sent formal complaints to the APC national chairman and has not received a response.
