APC Aspirant Kalu Rejects Abia Reps Primary Results

Onyeij Onuoha Kalu, an aspirant for the Abia State National Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has rejected the primary election results, asserting his victory. The primary election committee, led by Barrister Erasmus Cishak, announced Ikenna Nicholas as the winner on Saturday, May 16.

Kalu claimed to have won 15 out of 22 wards in the Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal Constituency, securing 8 out of 11 wards in Arochukwu Local Government Area and 7 out of 11 wards in Ohafia Local Government Area. He expressed gratitude to his supporters and emphasized the need for the party to uphold the rule of law.

Kalu stated that he would not concede to Nicholas, maintaining that the committee's declaration was improper. He called on party members to rally behind the APC governorship aspirant, Henri Ikoh, who is noted for his industrialist background and job creation efforts.

The APC National Assembly primary appeal committee is set to review complaints regarding the election process.
