Benue Deputy Governor Disowns Leaked APC Communiqué

Benue State Deputy Governor Sam Od publicly disowned a leaked communiqué from the All Progressives Congress (APC) that emerged after a reconciliation meeting. Od stated that the signatures attached to the document were not authorized and that the version circulating in the media had not received final approval.

He explained that the draft was sent to Governor Hyacinth Alia and Secretary to the Government of the Federation Georg Akum for review, and that no member of the draft committee had signed the version made public. Od emphasized that the communiqué did not mention automatic ticket arrangements for members of the National Assembly or State Assembly, countering claims that such discussions had taken place.

This clarification comes amid reports of political tension within the APC structure in Benue State, fueled by allegations of automatic ticket arrangements that could affect the upcoming 2027 elections.
