Benue Govt take steps to protect farmers from herdsmen attacks

The Benue State Government has taken proactive measures to protect local farmers in Ukum Local Government Area from attacks by herdsmen. The Chairman of Ukum Local Government Area, Hon.

Jonathan Modi, revealed that a team of military personnel, led by Sector Commander for Ukum, Logo, and Buruku Local Government Areas, Captain Balora, conducted a strategic assessment tour of Ukum LGA to enhance security in the area. The region has been severely affected by armed herder invasions and banditry, causing economic and social instability.

Modi assured the community of Governor Alia's commitment to restoring peace and safeguarding farmers from violence. He urged youth involved in criminal activities to surrender and embrace peace, emphasizing the importance of returning to farming for economic stability and social harmony.
