Police Repel Bandits Attacks In Benue

Police in Benue successfully repelled attacks by bandits in Yelwata and Udie towns. In Yelwata, gunmen attacked a farm, resulting in the death of three farmers and injuries to three others.

The police engaged in a shootout with the attackers, who later fled into the forest. A protest was organized by women in Yelwata, accusing the military of not responding to the attack.

Meanwhile, in Udie town, suspected Fulani bandits were also repelled by the police. The wounded were taken to a teaching hospital in Makurdi, with arrangements being made for the burial of the deceased.

State government officials addressed the protesters, assuring them of continued security measures. Adequate tactical teams have been deployed to both areas to prevent further attacks.
