Benue Lawmaker Philip Agbese Joins Labour Party

Philip Agbese, a member of the House of Representatives for the Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in Benue State, announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Labour Party (LP) on Tuesday. Agbese, who has served as the deputy spokesperson for the House of Representatives, stated that his decision was driven by a desire to better serve his constituents and to answer a higher call to serve the people.

He expressed his sincere and humble commitment to the Labour Party, which he noted warmly received him. Agbese acknowledged the leadership of the Labour Party, referring to the national chairman and emphasizing the party's unity as a platform for Nigerian lawmakers.

He recognized the responsibilities that come with his new role and committed to strengthening the party's future electoral success, stating that membership in the Labour Party will guide inclusivity and mutual respect while recognizing the contributions of both old and new members towards building a stronger party unit.
