Aondoakaa Names Ogbenjuwa Israel as Running Mate for PDP

Aondoakaa, the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue, has chosen 38-year-old Ogbenjuwa Israel, a security expert, as his running mate. This decision was announced during a stakeholders' meeting held in Makurdi, where the party ratified Aondoakaa's candidacy.

Aondoakaa, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, focused on peace, security, economic growth, justice, and agricultural development in his address. He pledged to implement anti-open grazing laws and promote industrial growth to create economic opportunities for the people.

Aondoakaa emphasized that the campaign would be issue-based, devoid of bitterness and division, and urged party members to unite and mobilize aggressively at the grassroots level ahead of the 2027 elections. PDP State Chairman Ezekiel Adaji confirmed that the process complied with the provisions of the Electoral Act, and the motion to ratify Aondoakaa's candidacy was adopted.

Senator Abba Moro also encouraged party members to work diligently for the success of the PDP in the upcoming elections.
