Benue: Speaker’s resignation personal principle, not Alia’s interference – Assembly Spokesman

Benue State House Assembly clarified that Speaker Aondona Dajoh's resignation was based on personal principles and not due to Governor Hyacinth Alia's interference. The Assembly's spokesperson, Elias Audu, emphasized that the Governor does not control lawmakers and that Dajoh's decision was independent.

Audu addressed the issue on a television program, stating that the Speaker was not coerced by the Governor and that the decision was made in the best interest of the state. Dajoh had resigned in good faith, thanking the people for their support.

Audu dismissed any claims of political interference or coercion, stating that Dajoh's resignation was a personal decision in the current political climate. The Assembly remains committed to serving the interests of the people of Benue State.
