Benue Youths Protest APC Primaries Over Insecurity

On Saturday, Benue youths staged a protest against the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries, expressing their outrage over persistent killings in the Idoma community. The demonstration took place in the Apa Local Government Area, where the youths carried a coffin and various placards with inscriptions.

They chanted slogans such as "no election," emphasizing that no political activities should proceed while insecurity continues to threaten their lives. The protest disrupted movement in the area, as the youths demanded that political leaders prioritize the protection of lives and property.

They asserted that the ongoing security situation, attributed to attacks by suspected armed herdsmen and criminal elements, has left residents living in fear. The protesters declared that they would not accept any political exercise until the security issues affecting their community are adequately addressed.
