EFCC Warns Public About Fake Sting Operations and Impersonators

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a warning to the public regarding impersonators posing as EFCC personnel and conducting fake sting operations. Dele Oyewale, the commission's head of media, highlighted that these unscrupulous individuals use various deceptive tactics to defraud unsuspecting victims, particularly in popular hangout spots.

They often dress in fake uniforms and create scenarios that mimic actual EFCC operations to deceive individuals. Additionally, there have been reports of criminals harassing motorists based on vehicle number plates, resorting to threats and extortion.

The EFCC also noted that online impersonators fabricate false sting operations to mislead the public about the commission's activities. They urge everyone to exercise caution and not to be swayed by deceitful actions that aim to discredit the EFCC.
