Boko Haram Kills Herder, Steals 1,400 Sheep in Borno

On March 10, 2026, Boko Haram terrorists attacked Wuturo Village in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the death of herder Ahmadu Baida, aged 40, and injuries to another herder, Mohammadu Baida, aged 30. The assailants, suspected to be Boko Haram or ISWAP members, arrived on five motorcycles and rustled 1,400 sheep belonging to local herdsmen.

Following the attack, the Borno State Police Command, represented by spokesman Nazir Abdulmajid, condemned the incident and assured the community of their commitment to safeguarding lives and property. A combined team of police and military personnel, including the Civilian Joint Task Force, was dispatched to the scene to evacuate the victims and provide medical assistance.

Ahmadu Baida was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital, while Mohammadu Baida is receiving treatment for his injuries. The police command is coordinating efforts to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen livestock.
