Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu Appointed Foreign Minister of Nigeria

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has been appointed as Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, succeeding Yusuf Tuggar, who resigned to participate in the 2027 elections. This appointment was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who emphasized the need for effective foreign policy to enhance Nigeria's global partnerships.

Saidu Mohammed was dismissed as Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) after only four months in office. President Tinubu also nominated Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as the new Chief Executive of NMDPRA, pending Senate confirmation, following the resignation of Farouk Ahmed.

Umar brings 25 years of experience in the energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. The decisions are part of Tinubu's strategy to strengthen regulatory effectiveness in Nigeria's petroleum sector and ensure capable leadership in advancing energy security and economic growth.
