Tinubu Appoints Bianca Ojukwu as Foreign Affairs Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially appointed Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu as the substantive Minister of Foreign Affairs, succeeding Yusuf Tuggar, who resigned to participate in the 2027 elections. This announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President, in a strategic statement on Wednesday.

Ojukwu previously served as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Additionally, President Tinubu nominated Sola Enikanolaiye for the position of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, which is subject to Senate confirmation.

Enikanolaiye, who hails from Kogi State, has served as a Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations and is recognized as a distinguished diplomat with over three decades of exemplary service in Nigeria's foreign service. His previous roles include serving as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and holding diplomatic posts in various countries.

The President emphasized that these appointments are part of ongoing efforts to reposition Nigeria's foreign policy architecture for greater efficiency and to strengthen global partnerships.
