Victor Osimhen's Injury Update Ahead of AFCON Qualifiers

Galatasaray announced that Victor Osimhen is receiving treatment for a right adductor muscle strain after experiencing pain during the Trendyol Super Lig Matchday 4 fixture against Başakşehir FK on Friday. The club's official statement noted that both Osimhen and teammate Mario Lemina suffered strains in their right groin muscle groups during the match.

While the MRI results are pending to determine the injury's severity, early signs are cautiously optimistic as Osimhen was seen moving freely post-match without protective strapping. However, his participation in Nigeria's upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Madagascar on September 23 and Guinea-Bissau on September 27 is in serious doubt.

Should Osimhen be unavailable, Kelechi Iheanacho, Tolu Arokodare, and Moses Usor are potential replacements, with Iheanacho currently in form at Bursaspor, Arokodare recently moving to Ajax, and Usor impressing at LASK.
