Bird Strike Grounds United Nigeria Airlines Aircraft

On January 4, 2023, a bird strike grounded an Airbus A320 aircraft operated by United Nigeria Airlines, leading to significant flight disruptions. This incident marked the second occurrence within 24 hours, following a similar event that affected the airline's operations.

The specific flight impacted was UN0519, scheduled to depart from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Mr. Chibuik Uloka, the airline's public relations officer, confirmed the developments in a statement issued on Sunday.

The aircraft was withdrawn for a comprehensive technical inspection in line with the airline's strict safety standards. This latest incident brings the total number of Airbus aircraft grounded within the last 24 hours to two, resulting in widespread disruptions across the airline's network.
