Bishop Kukah Appointed Chancellor of Ojukwu University

Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah has been appointed as the Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra State by Governor Professor Chukwuma Charl Soludo. Kukah is recognized as an eminent Nigerian intellectual and cleric, with significant contributions to academic scholarship and social justice in Nigeria.

He attended St. Augustine Major Seminary in Jos, Plateau State, and studied philosophy and theology at the University of Ibadan.

Kukah holds a diploma in religious studies from Pontifical Urban University in Rome, a Bachelor of Divinity, a Master's degree in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford, and a Ph.D. from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in 1990. He has also studied at Oxford University and Harvard University.

As the founder of the Kukah Centre, he advocates for interfaith harmony and policy reform. His appointment is expected to leverage his global network to foster international partnerships and inspire ethical leadership at the university.
