Blueprint Newspapers Congratulates Ikenna Okonkwo on Re-election

Blueprint Newspapers congratulated Ambassador Ikenna Okonkwo on his re-election as Secretary General of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) during a presentation of his Certificate of Return at the newspaper's head office in Abuja on Monday. The management, including Managing Director/CEO Mallam Salisu Umar, Editorial Director Mr Clem Oluwole, and Head of Audit Mallam Gambo Abdullahi, praised Okonkwo's leadership and contributions to sports journalism.

They emphasized the significant responsibilities of the Secretary General in coordinating the association's activities and ensuring effective communication among members. Okonkwo's re-election occurred during the 2026 National Triennial Delegates Congress of SWAN held in Kaduna, where President Isaiah Benjamin was also returned to lead the national executive council.

The management expressed confidence that Okonkwo would leverage his experience and professionalism in his new tenure, urging him to uphold the ideals of professionalism, unity, accountability, and responsible journalism.
