CDCFIB Alerts Applicants to Fake Recruitment Update

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) issued a warning to job applicants regarding a fraudulent recruitment update. The fake announcement claimed that a status-check portal for the next phase of recruitment would open on Monday, August 3, 2026.

This notice, marked with a red "FAKE" watermark, falsely stated that candidates who underwent a recent medical screening could check their recruitment status through an official portal. It also mentioned that shortlisted candidates would advance to subsequent stages, including fitness assessments and oral examinations.

The forged document bore an electronic signature attributed to Major General A.M. Jibril (retd.), the Secretary of the Board, and was dated August 1, 2026.

CDCFIB disowned the document and advised applicants to rely solely on information disseminated through its verified communication channels. This warning coincides with the ongoing 2025 recruitment exercise for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Correctional Service, which has seen thousands of applicants.
