Recruitment scams have become a persistent issue in Nigeria, with fraudsters exploiting the public's interest in government jobs by disseminating false advertisements and soliciting money from unsuspecting applicants. The NCS advised Nigerians to verify any recruitment information through its official social media platforms, which include Facebook (Nigeria Customs Service) and handles on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, and TikTok (@customsng).

The Service emphasized the importance of vigilance and verification before sharing or acting on any recruitment-related information.
