Bobrisky's Soundproof Cell and Special Privileges Revealed

An independent investigative panel disclosed that crossdresser Okuneye Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, was housed in a soundproof cell during his imprisonment. The panel's findings indicated that Bobrisky enjoyed extraordinary privileges, including access to a mobile phone and frequent visits from family and friends, which are not typically available to ordinary inmates.

The panel, chaired by Magdalena Ajani, was established by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, following public outrage over Bobrisky's treatment. The report highlighted that Bobrisky's cell was equipped with a personal toilet, a refrigerator, and a humidifier, and was decorated with wallpaper and a large bed.

The panel also recommended prosecuting social media activist Martin Ots for allegedly violating data privacy laws by sharing audio recordings of Bobrisky. Additionally, the panel suggested that the Nigerian Correctional Service investigate whether Bobrisky received preferential treatment due to bribery and recommended filing a defamation suit against him for spreading unverifiable claims.
