Nigerian Army Defeats Boko Haram in Borno Gun Battle

In a recent operation in Borno State, Nigerian Army troops successfully thwarted multiple Boko Haram terrorist attacks in the Pulka and Mandaragirau areas. The Joint Task Force North East reported that the terrorists attempted to overrun defensive positions but were met with superior firepower and tactical foresight from the troops.

The engagement led to a temporary breach of the perimeter in the Sambisa Forest sector, but swift reinforcements and retaliatory fire forced the terrorists to retreat. A statement from the senior command indicated that a Boko Haram commander sustained critical gunshot injuries to the neck, leading to his death, alongside significant losses in weapons and equipment for the terrorists.

Notably, there were no reported human casualties among the troops during the attack, although a few soldiers sustained injuries and were evacuated for treatment via air support. The operation concluded with the confirmation of multiple casualties among the terrorists.
