Boko Haram Kills Army Officer in Borno State Attack

Boko Haram militants killed Lieutenant Colonel Umar Farouq during an attack on a military base in Borno State. The incident occurred as part of a highly coordinated assault on military facilities, including Kukawa Town, which took place on a Sunday.

Sources confirmed that the attack involved the dislodging of troops and the burning of military vehicles, with ammunition reportedly carted away by the insurgents. This attack comes less than 72 hours after another incident where Boko Haram killed Lieutenant Colonel Si Iliyasu, the commanding officer of the 222 Battalion, in Konduga, Borno State.

The recent surge in violence included simultaneous attacks on four military bases in the region, resulting in numerous casualties and the destruction of military assets. Military sources indicated that a significant number of Boko Haram terrorists were killed in the response to these attacks.
