Boko Haram Releases Video of 416 Abducted Victims

A faction of Boko Haram, known as Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad, released a video on Thursday showing 416 individuals abducted from Ngoshe in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. The six-minute, 43-second video, obtained by newsmen, features interviews with victims, primarily women and children, who expressed concerns for their families and their desire to return home.

One female victim appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, and Senator Ali Ndume, urging them to act urgently for their release. Samaila Kaigama, the spokesperson for the group, confirmed the number of abducted individuals and emphasized the need for humanitarian intervention.

The group also called on the international community and global leaders to support efforts for the immediate release of the captives, who include vulnerable individuals such as infants, children, and the elderly.
