Boko Haram Releases Video of 416 Abducted Residents

Boko Haram, identified as Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati Wal-Jihad, released a video on Thursday showing 416 abducted residents from Ngosh in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. The video, lasting six minutes and 43 seconds, features victims, primarily women and children, who claim they are alive and in stable health, having received basic care.

The spokesperson for the Borno South Youth Alliance, Samaila Kaigama, confirmed the number of victims and emphasized the need for urgent government intervention to secure their release. The group expressed concern for the families of the abducted, fearing for their safety due to military actions in the area.

The video aims to amplify the voices of the victims while stressing that the alliance does not support Boko Haram's terrorist activities. The incident follows an attack on March 4, where insurgents destroyed military vehicles and overpowered security forces, leading to the abduction of residents.
