Boko Haram Attacks Ngoshe, Abducts 100 Women and Children

On a Wednesday during Ramadan, Boko Haram terrorists attacked Ngoshe in Borno State, resulting in the abduction of approximately 100 women and children and the death of a soldier. Local sources reported that the terrorists overpowered military troops due to their superior numbers.

Following the assault, Nigerian military forces conducted airstrikes, reportedly killing 50 Boko Haram fighters. The group claimed responsibility for the attack, with a video circulating online featuring Abu Umaima, a leader of Boko Haram, declaring their control over Ngoshe and threatening to continue their campaign.

The attack occurred shortly after Muslims broke their fast, and the terrorists announced plans to rename the town and enforce their rule. A soldier who narrowly escaped described the traumatic events, including witnessing the beheading of a colleague.

The military's response was criticized for insufficient manpower and equipment, with only 36 soldiers remaining to confront the terrorists.
