Boko Haram Attacks Military Base in Borno, Casualties Reported

In the early hours of Monday, Boko Haram launched an attack on a military base located in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State, around 12:30 AM. The insurgents overran the base, resulting in the death of a commanding officer and several soldiers.

Sources indicate that the troops were dislodged from their positions, and the attackers set military vehicles ablaze while carting away ammunition. The exact number of casualties remains unspecified.

This incident follows a previous attack where gallant troops successfully repelled an assault, earning commendations on social media, particularly from Karta Maina Ma Aji Lawan, a lawmaker representing Kukawa in the Borno State House of Assembly. The latest attack coincided with another assault on a military base near an internally displaced persons camp in Ngosh Town, Gwoza Local Government Area, which resulted in additional casualties among soldiers and civilians.
