Akande Questions Tinubu's Response to Borno Bombing

Akande, a former presidential aide, criticized President Bola Tinubu's response to a recent terrorist attack in Borno State, where at least 23 people were killed and 108 others injured by a suspected suicide bomber in Maiduguri. The attack targeted three locations, including a market and a teaching hospital, occurring just hours before Tinubu's state visit to the United Kingdom.

Akande acknowledged the president's directive to the military high command to relocate to Maiduguri and address the situation. However, he emphasized the need for emotional leadership, questioning why Tinubu could not have made a stopover in Maiduguri to show solidarity with the grieving citizens.

Akande expressed concern over the frequency of attacks in Nigeria and the perception of the country internationally, particularly when the president was engaged in diplomatic ceremonies abroad while insecurity persisted at home.
