Tinubu Vows to Intensify Action Against Borno Terrorists

President Bola Tinubu mourned the victims of a terrorist attack in Maiduguri, Borno State, which occurred on a Monday and resulted in 23 deaths and 108 injuries. In a statement released on Tuesday, he described the incident as a desperate attempt by insurgents to instill fear among the populace.

Tinubu expressed his condolences to the affected families and assured residents that the federal government is committed to restoring security in the region. He emphasized the need for intensified military operations against insurgents, stating that the Nigerian Army and security forces would not allow terrorists to find safe haven in the country.

Following the attack, which was attributed to suspected Boko Haram militants, security measures were heightened, with warnings issued to residents to avoid crowded areas. Lt.

Col. Sanni Uba confirmed the attack targeted a crowd, and Nahum Kenneth Daso noted ongoing investigations to determine the full circumstances.

Tinubu directed security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri to oversee operations and provide assistance to victims.
