BON to Honor Three Governors at 2026 Broadcast Awards

The Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON) announced that it will honor three governors at the 2026 Nigeria Broadcast Awards scheduled for April 8, 2026, in Abuja. The governors being recognized are Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, and Uba Sani of Kaduna State.

This recognition is part of a statement issued by BON's Executive Secretary, Yemisi Bamgbos, which highlights the governors' support for the media industry and their contributions to the development of broadcasting in Nigeria. The award ceremony, which will run from 6 PM to 9 PM at the NAF Conference Centre, aims to encourage collaboration between government and media institutions.

The 2026 edition of the awards attracted 204 entries across 24 competitive categories, including Best Radio Station, Best Newscast, and Best Report. The evaluation process was conducted by a panel led by former Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Danladi Bako, ensuring thoroughness and transparency.
