Boko Haram Attacks Military Base in Borno, Soldier Killed

On July 7, 2026, Boko Haram attempted to attack a military base located in Logomani, Ngala Local Government Area, Borno State. The assault was successfully repelled by troops from the Joint Task Force North East, led by Captain Muham Goni.

During the intense firefight, the insurgents briefly exploited a section of the base's defensive perimeter but were ultimately expelled, suffering significant casualties. Regrettably, one soldier was killed in the engagement.

Concurrently, troops from the 115 Task Force Battalion conducted a search and rescue operation in Askira Uba Local Government Area, successfully rescuing two abducted individuals from a terrorist hideout. During this operation, troops recovered cash amounting to N1,200,000 and food items believed to support terrorist activities.

The rescued victims were evacuated to a secure location for appropriate medical care and psychosocial support.
