Terrorists Attack Army Base and Police Post in Borno

On Tuesday night, terrorists attacked an Army forward operating base in Logomani, Ngala Local Government Area, Borno State, resulting in significant destruction and casualties. The assault involved two gun trucks and led to the burning of a police outpost, a primary healthcare center, and two classrooms.

Capt. Muham Goni confirmed the attack, stating that troops from the Joint Task Force North East successfully contained the coordinated assault despite initial breaches in the base's defenses. The military reported that the insurgents suffered significant casualties and fled with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.

Local residents described the attack as sophisticated, with minimal resistance from the community. Following the incident, Mala Tijjani Ngala, the Executive Chairman of Ngala Local Government Council, conducted an assessment of the damage and called for immediate intervention from the Borno State government, urging residents to cooperate with security agencies.

Efforts to contact ASP Nahum Daso of the Borno State Police Command for comments were unsuccessful.
