Police Investigate Borno Commissioner Over Inciting Remarks

The Nigeria Police Force has initiated investigations into alleged inciting comments made by Borno State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Sainna Buba, Kuje Area Council Chairman Danjuma Shekwolo, and Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East. Police spokesperson Ani Iniedu confirmed that these comments are being scrutinized as they relate to the electoral process, which constitutes a criminal offense.

The investigations follow controversial remarks made by Buba, who reportedly threatened to flog residents who do not support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election. Similarly, Shekwolo allegedly warned residents of Kuje Area Council to either vote for the APC or leave the council.

Fadahunsi has also been questioned regarding threats against members of the Accord Party. The police have stated that all statements made by these political figures are under investigation, and the outcomes will be disclosed to the public.
