Borno CSOs Commit to Government Accountability and Service

Civil society organizations in Borno State, represented by the newly appointed Executive Director Abubakar Suleiman, have committed to holding the government accountable to the people. During a press briefing in Maiduguri, Suleiman emphasized the importance of ensuring that the voices of the voiceless are heard in decision-making processes.

The network aims to address various issues affecting the residents and improve their living conditions by engaging relevant stakeholders. Suleiman expressed satisfaction with the recent electoral process, describing it as free, fair, and credible, with a significant voter turnout indicating community unity.

He also highlighted the need for the new executive to prioritize localizing efforts and securing funding for local non-governmental organizations, which face challenges due to limited resources from international agencies. The outgoing executive, Bulama Abiso, praised the voting process and urged the government to adopt technology-driven voting methods to enhance electoral integrity.
