Zulum Commits to Security and Project Completion in Borno

On Thursday, during the first regular state executive council meeting of 2026 held in the council chamber of the Government House in Maiduguri, Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum reaffirmed his administration's commitment to addressing the remaining security challenges in the state.

He emphasized that 2026 would be a year to consolidate peace, despite ongoing efforts to restore security in parts of Borno. The governor noted the importance of strengthening collaboration with security agencies to sustain ongoing interventions aimed at safeguarding lives and property.

He also disclosed that the state government is intensifying efforts to resettle internally displaced persons, focusing on medium to long-term durable solutions to rebuild communities and restore livelihoods. Furthermore, Zulum highlighted the need for a reinforced social protection framework to support vulnerable groups, stating that social security and protection will remain central to the agenda of rebuilding Borno for a better future.

He assured that ongoing projects across the state's three senatorial districts would be closely monitored to ensure timely delivery and value for money.
