Borno State Doctors and Nurses Receive Higher Salaries Than Federal Counterparts, NMA Commends State Government

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Borno State praised the state government for increasing salaries of medical doctors and nurses above those in federal institutions. Dr.

El Yakub Moham, the NMA chairman, urged the government to enact a residency training fund act to enhance healthcare sector development. He also highlighted the need for improved welfare, training, and security for healthcare workers amidst rising cases of kidnapping and banditry.

Governor Babagana Zulum was urged to address factors encouraging healthcare workers to leave the country for better opportunities abroad.
