Nigerian Govt to Release N11.995bn Arrears to Doctors and Health Workers in 72 Hours

The Nigerian government has announced the release of N11.995 billion within 72 hours to pay outstanding arrears, including allowances for doctors and health workers nationwide. This move comes after ongoing efforts to resolve welfare issues raised by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

The government remains committed to ensuring the welfare and motivation of the nation's health workforce. The payment includes arrears owed to health workers, with N10 billion already paid in August 2025 following approval by President Bola Tinubu.
