Borno State Launches N3bn Quarry for Infrastructure Boost

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum disclosed the establishment of a N3 billion quarry plant in Pulka, located in the Gwoza Local Government Area, to accelerate infrastructure development in the state. The quarry has a processing capacity of 120 tons per hour and is part of a broader initiative to enhance local sourcing of materials such as granite, gravel, and sharp sand.

This move aims to reduce dependence on external suppliers and cut costs associated with road construction. During the announcement, Zulum also flagged off the distribution of 70 brand new trucks to the Ministry of Works and the State Road Maintenance Agency, which will significantly boost operational capacity and enable faster delivery of materials to project sites, facilitating timely interventions for damaged roads.

The establishment of the quarry plant is expected to play a crucial role in improving the efficiency of road projects across Borno State.
