Borno Police Lose Two Assistant Commissioners in Two Days

The Borno Police Command reported the deaths of two assistant commissioners, ACP Danjuma Muham and ACP Abubakar Balteh, within a span of two days. ACP Danjuma Muham passed away on February 20, 2026, following a prolonged illness.

Just a day later, on February 21, 2026, ACP Abubakar Balteh was involved in a fatal motor accident. The command held a tribute in honor of the deceased officers, with the head of the department and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maiduguri, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, extending heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the deceased.

The police command described the loss as a significant blow to the Nigeria Police Force. They appreciated the messages of sympathy and prayers received from the public and called on both Christian and Muslim communities to continue praying during the Lenten and Ramadan periods for peace and unity across the state.
