Borno Police Disburse N20m to Families of Fallen Officers

The Borno State Police Command has disbursed a total of N20,137,770.34 to nine beneficiaries under a group life insurance scheme designed to support the families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The funds were presented during a ceremony aimed at assisting the beneficiaries with education, healthcare, and general welfare.

Nahum Daso, the command's spokesperson, stated this on Thursday. The event was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police for Finance and Administration, Ibrahim Sumaila, on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, Nazir Abdulmajid.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, emphasized that the welfare of officers' families remains a top priority for the force. DCP Sumaila urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds prudently.

Modu Ishaku, speaking on behalf of the recipients, expressed gratitude for the gesture. This payout follows a similar disbursement in January 2026, when approximately N18.38 million was released to nine families under the same scheme.
