Borno State Shuts Schools for Measles-Rubella and Polio Vaccination Drive

Borno State's Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation has ordered the closure of public and private primary and secondary schools for two days to facilitate a mass measles-rubella and polio vaccination exercise. The closure, directed by the Permanent Secretary, Yakaru Mustapha, is scheduled for October 23 and 24, 2025, with schools expected to resume on October 27, 2025.

The vaccination campaign, organized by the Borno State Ministry of Health and Human Services in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), aims to reach children aged 0-59 months for polio and 9 months to 14 years for measles-rubella.
