Niger State Launches Measles-Rubella Immunization Campaign

The Niger State Ministry of Primary Healthcare launched a measles-rubella immunization campaign in Kontagora and Kagara Emirates. The initiative, part of the Integrated Vaccine Introduction Polio Campaign, aims to achieve comprehensive immunization against preventable diseases.

Governor Mohammed Umaru's administration prioritizes public health measures, ensuring every eligible child receives necessary protection. The campaign, funded by the World Bank, focuses on minimizing morbidity and mortality associated with measles, rubella, and polio.

Project Manager Hamza Tijani highlighted the campaign's significance in fostering a healthier population and preventing disease outbreaks. Health officials stressed the efficacy of vaccines and the campaign's role in building resilience against infectious diseases.
