BPSR and CeFTPI Launch 2026 Transparency Index in Abuja

The Bureau of Public Service Reform (BPSR) and the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI) launched the 2026 Transparency and Integrity Index (TII) during a workshop in Abuja. Mr.
Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, the Director General of BPSR, represented Mr. Gloria Omen, the Acting Director of Finance and Accounts.
The TII serves as an evidence-based assessment tool designed to help ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) evaluate and improve compliance with transparency and accountability standards. Developed in 2021, the index has evolved into an annual assessment framework evaluating 500 federal and state institutions based on adherence to transparency and open governance principles.
The 2026 assessment will focus on five key thematic areas: fiscal transparency, open procurement, human resource inclusion, anti-corruption measures, and citizen engagement. The methodology is rooted in national and international governance frameworks, including the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and various fiscal responsibility and procurement acts.
The index aims to promote good governance and enhance public trust in government institutions.
