Senator Accuses Godswill Akpabio of Preventing Her Travel by Seizing Passport

Senator Natasha Akpoti of Kogi Central alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio instructed airport officials to seize her passport, preventing her from traveling. Akpoti claimed that her passport was withheld twice without any legal basis, stating that she had not committed any offense.

The incident occurred after she celebrated her second year in office and planned to take time off. Akpoti made these accusations during a live Facebook broadcast.

She further claimed that Akpabio had directly informed her of the passport seizure. The senator emphasized that there was no court order authorizing the seizure of her passport, denying her the right to travel.
